Biography of Delores Hogan Johnson

Delores was born and raised in Fort Pierce and graduated from Lincoln Park Academy. She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Fisk University in Nashville, and a master’s degree from the University of Central Florida.

Johnson’s lifelong dedication to educating District 84’s youth spans decades and continues today. Johnson retired last year after committing three decades to St. Lucie County public schools, where she served as a guidance counselor and Dean of Students at Lincoln Park Academy and Port St. Lucie High School. Johnson is also a noted local environmentalist, helping start the St. Lucie County Waterfront Council and has been a leader on water quality issues for the last 20 years.

Delores has also been an Academic Counselor at Indian River State College for eight years and Director of Social Services at the Fort Pierce Housing Authority.
